As Shannon’s uncles well know, Shannon received her first Mickey (their Christmas gift to her – a five foot Mickey!) when she was less than 8 months old…and she was hooked. By the time she was two years old, all she wanted was a Mickey Mouse cake for her birthday…every year! To keep the tradition alive, her 30th birthday was no different (although we surprised her with it).
My Friday- 10 days ago
So we’re supposed to post random things on here, right? With that notion, I thought I’d share how I spent my Friday before last. My friend Dennis and I headed to the beach with our dogs; well, with his dog and my “adopted” dog Floyd. Dennis recently started his own company called Paw IMprints, where he takes pictures of people with their dogs in their natural routines and surroundings (no poses here). When I take care of Floyd, I often bring him to the beach, thus this is where we headed. Here are a few of my favorite shots. I have 33 really great ones to choose from (out of 6 rolls). It was a great New England kind of day (foggy, light drizzle) at the beach!
Oh, there is a great old graveyard (circa 1600) that is located on the way to the beach. It’s a huge piece of property set directly on Little Harbor. People bring their dogs there all of the time to run around and also to jump the head stones… it’s wierd, I know.
Time to Brag about Shannon
I’ve posted a lot of exciting news about Brian & Andrea and Dawn and Chris lately, so it’s time to brag about Shannon. Shannon has accepted a new position as a publicist with a firm in Dover, New Hampshire. Bisson Barcelona is a national publicity firm that specializes in high visibility campaigns and integrated marketing strategies for Authors, Business Professionals and Companies. Even her boss at the Women’s Business Center told Shannon that this was a fabulous career move for her (of course she tried to counter-offer first).
We’re really proud of you, Shay!
What a Great Night!!!
As you all may know I just recently turned the big two one (A.K.A DRUNK) haha just kidding dad! To celebrate this wonderful occasion my wonderful cousin Shannon came out to celebrate with me and a couple of my friends down at some of the ISU bars. She felt right at home. Basically I’m just posting this to say that not only do I wish all of you could have joined us but also to thank Shannon soooo very much for driving down to celebrate a birthday I’ll never be able to remember.
One of my favorites
Shannon’s 21st birthday. Gary and I flew in and teamed up with Ron and Steve to surprise her. We just walked into the bar where she was celebrating the birthday with her girlfriends. When she saw us, she did this double take that was almost as amazing as the look we got from Kenny when we surprised him for his birthday (or the look I got from Marilyn, Mary, and Mary Ann the time I surprised them at a Chippendales show). She then let out a scream and ran over to hug us. I’m sure her girlfriends didn’t have a clue what was going on.
To Pod or Not to Pod… that is the question.
Are IPods really the way to go? I was in Best Buy last weekend looking for a set of replacement headphones for Brandon’s IPod Shuffle. The only ones (that were Apple certified and that matched the original ones) were sold with a useless remote control and were priced at $45. I was highly annoyed that I couldn’t find the replacement headphones sold by themselves. It was at this moment when I realized that I had become a victim of marketing. It never even occured to me that there may be other options out there for MP3 players. So, I began to look around. I noticed several on the market and all at significantly lower prices than IPod. So what’s so special about these fruity little devices anyway? Why should I give them my money?
Changed the Footer
Decided it was time this handsome devil joined the rest of the family.
While Larry makes Martinis, Shannon makes Headlines
Larry, that’s not to say that I’m not impressed with your feat. Oh, and watch the thumb comments, eh? 🙂
Since Larry has already made his big headlines in the corporate world, I figure that I should start making mine if I want to retire and make martinis anytime soon! I don’t have the time to post the picture here… well, I’ll give it a shot. But anyway, check out the article in all it’s glory by visiting http://www.seacoastonline.com/news/10232005/business/69484.htm.
Okay, now for the picture thing… here goes nothing.
Yeah, I tried the picture thing and it didn’t work. Oh well, you’ll see it on the website. I hope all is well with everyone! (I fixed it for you – UL)

Thanksgiving
Lisman’s Mom has asked us to invite Shannon, Mar and Steve to NY for Thanksgiving. She remembers fondly a Thanksgiving with Shan and has been wanting to do it again ever since. Were you here, too, Mar?
Larry, do you have T-Day plans? I don’t remember any pix of you in a Pilgrim or turkey costume, so I suspect you don’t have any annual events scheduled around T-Day.
That didn’t hurt a bit!
Hello All!
I’m amazed at how easy registering was (once I received a bit more direction from Larry).
Larry and Gary, great job! You are absolutely right… this will be a great way to keep up with everyone’s life!
I’m suddenly finding myself without a whole lot to say… let’s see….
Well, I recently finished putting on a 200+ person event for work (last Monday) that went over really well. Or at least that’s what they’re telling me. Things were completely changed at the last minute (there is a major difference between a room being 51 x 59 and actually being 41 x 49 when you are setting up a trade show. BUT, while things were insane behind the scenes, the public thought that it was the best show yet (it was our third show and the first one that I’ve run). The Governor came (if I master the picture posting I’ll put one up of him and I) and I mentioned that Lisman has worked at Knoll forever (Governor Lynch is/was the CEO of Knoll). He began asking me a series of questions that I couldn’t possibly answer (what department, what location , how long has she been there, etc.) and I proceeded to smile and say, “I will find the answers to those questions as soon as my family’s blog is set up.” Okay, I didn’t actually say that, but I’m sure I’ll get my answers nonetheless.
Many of you met Brandon while we were in Chicago. I am currently planning his surprise birthday party (Chris, Nick and Mom you inspired me) which will take place on “Stevie Ditka’s” birthday (next Saturday). So far so good… he doesn’t seem to have a clue. Actually, I need to call his father because he’s planning on heading up to Freeport, ME to visit with his dad that evening. Something tells me that not having the guest of honor present that night would really throw a monkey wrench into the whole surprise party thing.
Well, it is sunny and 65 degrees in northern New England and the leaves are starting to turn. It is too beautiful to be inside any longer, so I will venture into the great outdoors. Much thanks to Larry and Gary for taking time to make this happen!
Blog ya later-
Shannon
