We had our annual Santa bar crawl last night. While I didn’t make an official tally, I’d say we probably topped 100 people on the tour. We had an absolute blast. This was our seventh one and it’s really taken off these last couple of years.
Actor Peter Facinelli’s daughter thought she’d set up her video cam to catch Santa on Christmas Eve. This is what she found on her camera the next morning.
Tonight marks our sixth annual State College Santa Crawl.
Our annual romp in Santa costumes started out as a little thing that I created (with encouragement from my buddy Brian Allen) back in 2004. Our original group consisted of five of us.
This year we could have upwards of 75-100 people.
I’m also trying to ratchet up my coverage of the event by experimenting with live coverage of the goings on with my iPhone (I already know that lighting conditions are going to make it a challenge but I’m going to do the best that I can).
If things work out as I hope, the window just below will have a live feed of our activities (as much as I can without killing the battery in my phone) while the second window below will have a collection of the videos that I’ve made throughout the evening.
This was the night of our annual Santa Crawl. I decided to make a token appearance by heading to the Tavern around 11 PM and surprising the crew as they came through. They arrived about 11:20 and it only took about 15 minutes for me to realize I’m not ready to resume a full social slate yet. I was busy trying to catch up with people that I hadn’t see in ages and a minor coughing fit came on quickly. Fortunately I had my senses about me and didn’t leave with them when they took off for the next bar about a half hour later.
The event has grown considerably since I started it with five people back in 2004. I’d say they had about 45 people tonight. A couple of people took photos of me and as soon as they send them to me I’ll post them
At least you can see how thin my face is in this photo. I’ll post a full body shot (without the Santa suit) in a day or two.
Just wanted to post a little retrospective of past NJ Falls’ Xmas cards. I’ve got a new one coming, and really think y’all will like it, so I wanted to create a little “buzz” for the debut.
I figure I’ll post the new one Xmas Eve, unless the public outcry for a preview becomes overwhelming, in which case I might release the digital version early.
