Gary’s 50th Birthday Bash

Better late than never. October is such a busy, fun-filled month for us; Steve’s father’s birthday, Steve’s birthday and Blake’s birthday so we’re having a party and even a play ground for the kids from www.softplaydesignandinstallation.co.uk. But best of all this year, was getting together with family to celebrate Gary’s 50th. My pictures are a little out of focus (hopefully Kenny & Gary have better), but I thought my few pictures might get the ball rolling with others posting theirs.

The first two pictures are from our evening at Havana’s. The third is a shot of the Neshaminy Creek in Chalfont from the bridge (remember when it was an old wooden bridge?). The last is one of the covered bridges we visited.

Better Late Than Never

Two recent events:

Lex’s birthday Party: 10 6 yr olds and mini-golf. I’ll never do that again…. tho I may do it with 7 yr olds.

Mother’s Day: 2 traditions.

1) A picture in front of our neighbors bushes (azaeleas?).

2) A vist to the Van Vleck Gardens, here in Montclair, for a Mother’s Day Concert. (Tho we’ve actually made it for the concert only once, we do stroll the gardens.)

Winter Fun

We had just a couple of chances to go sledding and skating this winter, it just wasn’t cold or snowy enough. So we crammed in a bunch when we could.

Have you seen these new “boogie” sleds? They fly!!

We did a lot of skating on a pond nearby. First chance the kids had to skate on something other than a rink (round and round in one direction) and we all had a blast. Both kids have been taking lessons again this year, but Lex is now taking hockey classes. First it was skating techniques, now he’s on to stick skills and scrimmages.

Charlotte’s Birthday

Saturday night we went to the local Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse with Lex, Charlotte and nine other eight yr old girls. Lotsa fun.

After dinner we went home for cake & ice cream and a movie.

Even more fun!

Ronnie’s Riotous Raucous!

After a fabulous feast at Lou Malnatti’s (sorry Shannon) we continued to party at my house amidst the destruction/construction of our kitchen. Most of the evening was spent trying to take a picture of the six of us (guess I better learn how to use the delay). Who could ask for a better 48th birthday, right Ron?

Happy Birthday Shay!! 30 Years of Mickey!

As Shannon’s uncles well know, Shannon received her first Mickey (their Christmas gift to her – a five foot Mickey!) when she was less than 8 months old…and she was hooked. By the time she was two years old, all she wanted was a Mickey Mouse cake for her birthday…every year! To keep the tradition alive, her 30th birthday was no different (although we surprised her with it).

Lex’s Birthday Dinner

We went out to dinner for Lex’s birthday Friday night. We brought the kids next door, too… Emily and Will, Lex and Charlotte’s best friends.

We went to the local Japanese Steak House, a no-star but convenient, very kid-friendly, reasonably-priced, reasonably-healthy-food establishment.

Lex got to wear a crown during dessert. At least I think it’s a crown. And they took our picture with a Polaroid that they’ll put on the wall with a hundred others…. gee, I wonder why they’re so nice to do that?

We’re having a party for him this Sunday in the backyard. The yard’s a bit damp right now, always is in the spring, and we’re hoping it’ll be drier this weekend. We’ll have gobs of kids, relay races, a pinata (which seems to be standard now), and hopefully no injuries on the see-saws.

L’anniversaire de Charlotte

Charlotte’s seven. So we went out to dinner with her best friend, Emily. All had steak. All went to the powder rooms by themselves (Lex, too).

Came home and opened presents. For some reason, 7 seems very poignant to me. Somehow more significant than most of the others, so far. I guess ‘cuz I can truly remember being seven. And because Charlotte’s clearly her own person now.

I suspect this may be the last teddy bear she wants; tho it’s not just a teddy bear, it’s a “glow-in-the-dark Doodle-Bear”.

What a Great Night!!!

As you all may know I just recently turned the big two one (A.K.A DRUNK) haha just kidding dad! To celebrate this wonderful occasion my wonderful cousin Shannon came out to celebrate with me and a couple of my friends down at some of the ISU bars. She felt right at home. Basically I’m just posting this to say that not only do I wish all of you could have joined us but also to thank Shannon soooo very much for driving down to celebrate a birthday I’ll never be able to remember.
