25 Years and we’re still having fun…

…in the sun! Yes, it will be 25 years of wedded bliss on Wednesday. To celebrate, we went to Key West, with good friends of ours, Ed & Mary Kipp. They are celebrating 30 years the day before us (and they’re younger than us!).

Here are a few pictures:  1) Sunset on the pier 2) Lobster dinner at an outdoor cafe 3) Poolside at our B&B

Next week we’re off to Orlando with Dawn, Chris & the “K-boys”. That should be interesting!  We’ll post more pictures upon our return!

  1. Emilie and I did the whole sunset at the pier thing – it’s one of those Key West “must do” tourist things (although it appears you weren’t at THE pier – the southernmost point in the continental US). We’re gathered around this street performer, who’s doing some guitar bit for a crowd of about 20 or so tourists, when someone in the group looks at the kid and goes “Jeremy – is that you?” As soon as his song is over he walks over to the couple and says “Please don’t tell mom and dad you saw me here?”.

Cracked me up. I wonder where the parents thought the kid was?

  2. I was gonna make a crack about retirement after your last post. Now I’m convinced I should…. but I think I’ll wait till you get back from Disney…. good luck.

  3. Larry – I think we were at the pier you’re referring to. The southernmost point of the US doesn’t have a pier. It’s at the opposite end of Duval St. and has a space capsule-like monument…not much else is there. Mallory Square is where all the street performers are. It’s up on Sunset Pier on the Gulf of Mexico side (the sun sets in the west). Your story is funny though…where in the world would parents think their kid is while he’s down in Key West performing? This was the 4th time we’ve been there in the last 15 years or so and a lot of the performers and vendors down Duval St. are the same people who have been there for 15 years. Strange life style (great place to visit but I couldn’t live there).
Gary – looking forward to your “crack”.

  4. You probably were. The 20 years or so since I was there probably has me confused.
