  1. This is fabulous! Did you do the snowflakes too? They disappear too quickly…we need more (although we’re getting plenty outside today)!

How about a report from everyone on their gifts? I got two great cookbooks from Lisman plus a Christmas trivia game. We had 35 people for Christmas Eve dinner and I’m still cleaning up (I worked with Dawn Wednesday & Thursday, plus had dental surgery Thursday afternoon, so I have an excuse). As soon as I’m finished I’m going to sit down and read my cookbooks from cover to cover to decide on some new things to try. I’ve really gotten into more adventurous cooking now that I’m semi-retired. I enjoy it and Steve really loves it (his waistline shows it!). We’re going to some friend’s home New Year’s Eve for a quiet dinner and evening of games, so I’ll be sure to take the Christmas trivia there. So, thank you very much Lisman!

Steve B. got a great golf shirt from Steve F. I’m sure he’ll put that to good use at the battle.

So, let’s hear from the rest of you!

    Happy New Year!!!

  2. I did the snowflakes.

I got a great sweater from Mary. Somehow she made the perfect choice when it came to a style (I don’t know how, because even if someone had asked me what type I liked, I couldn’t have answered them) – this one just works. It’s a very comfortable casual cotton thick stitched sweater, that has already become my favorite sweater to wear around the house.

  3. Steve B. gave me the perfect, useless, gift. Just the kind I like. A keychain with a small digital photo viewer.

I got a nice cashmere sweater, a new fireplace screen (greatly needed), smoked salmon, and various stocking stuffers.

And of course, the whole family got a Wii.

PS – Lar, will you remove the snowflakes before too long? They pretty much kill load and scroll performance (for me at least).

  4. Ken and Lisa had Mary and I. We rec’d a gift certificate to Let Us Entertain You Restaurants. We actually have a couple of other gift certificates from the same and can have a really, really good dinner with all of these.

Also, Ken and Lisa had us some years ago and gave us a really nice 2 bag golf stand. Well, I hate to admit this, but I never put it together. I finally did this year. It’s really a lot nicer when it’s out of the box and being used.

The only problem at this time is we only have one bag of clubs to put in it because somehow (and it seems it’s my fault) Mary has lost her full set of clubs. Her birthday is coming soon. Maybe we can fill the stand then.

  5. This is Mary – Great card, Gary, I really love it!

Larry, I’m so glad you like the sweater. Haven’t seen you in a long time so I was concerned about the fit.

Marilyn, great Xmas eve party, as always.

I told Steve we should have our picture taken when we are out to dinner using the gift certificate Ken and Lisa gave us, and we could put it on the blog. He said the blog is going away – boo hoo, say it ain’t so (Larry).

Steve F. it is your fault my clubs are missing. I have called the last 2 courses you played at but they are closed for the winter – I bet they are at Poplar Creek!

  6. You got lucky. The blog renewed automatically. I didn’t remember signing up that way but I guess I did – so it’s probably around for another year.

    I killed the snowflakes.

  7. Yeah!!!! We have a year to convince you to keep it up and running!

Mary, thanks for the thanks on the party. It may be my last one for a while (Christmas Eve, that is). Chris K. thought it too much for Blake and future kids. We need to think of a more kid-friendly celebration.
